Relate the news of Abraham to them. 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." 71 (Abraham) asked: "Do they hear when you call them? 72 Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?" 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: "Do ye then see whom ye have been worshipping,- 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 who created me. It is He who guides me; 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 who makes me to die and then revives me, 81 "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment. 82 O Lord, give me wisdom and admit me among the righteous, 83 And appoint for me an honourable mention among the posterity 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 Do not betray me 87 “The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons.” 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 (On that Day) the Garden will be brought near to the God-fearing, 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 It will be said to them: 'Where is that you worshipped, 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 Then the idols and those who strayed will be hurled into the Fire headlong, one upon another, 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it: 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 And no one misguided us except the criminals. 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
