The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 About which they differ? 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
