The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 Neither coolness shall they taste therein nor any [thirst-quenching] drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 Indeed, they were not expecting an account 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
