The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the great news - 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 and the night as a cover, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, 21 a return for the insolent, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
