The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
