The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 you pay attention 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
