The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
