The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
