The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
