The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
