The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And who glide with ease. 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people together 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
