The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 And those who govern the event, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
