The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
