The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 and gently take it away; 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But the Pharaoh disavowed and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 then he mustered 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
