The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 then he mustered 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
