He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 Yet for all thou didst know, [O Muhammad,] he might perhaps have grown in purity, 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 to him thou attendest 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 you pay him no heed. 10 Not this way this is the advice. 11 So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 Exalted, Purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 noble and purified. 16 Man is (self-)destroyed: how ungrateful! 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 then the way eased for him, 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 We let the rain pour down in torrents 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 to yield therein corn, 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 And fruits and herbage 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 That Day shall a man flee from his brother, 34 and his mother and his father; 35 and his consort and his children; 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 38 laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. 39 whereas some faces will be covered with dust 40 Blackness will cover them: 41 those -- they are the unbelievers, the libertines. 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
