The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
