The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
