The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I secretly plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
