The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars darken, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas rise, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
