The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas rise, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And the breath of morning 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
