The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
