The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the close of night, 17 and brightening morning, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
