The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
