The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
