The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 where then are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
