The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wound up; 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the books are spread, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
