The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is covered, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and the night that falls, 17 And the breath of morning 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither then will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
