The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 that hide, 16 by the night swarming, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
