The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
