The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 The closing night, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
