The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
