The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
