The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is folded up, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
