The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come to know what it has brought. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
