The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls are paired 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
