Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are erupted 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 who created you, fashioned you and proportioned you, 7 and composed thee after what form He would? 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 They know what you do. 12 As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss; 13 But the wicked, indeed they shall be in the Fiery Furnace, 14 which they will enter on the Day of Judgment 15 and from which they will find no escape. 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 18 [It will be] a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to another human being: for on that Day [it will become manifest that] all sovereignty is God's alone. 19
