Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven becomes cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 the oceans are merged together, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together. 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 And most surely there are keepers over you 10 noble, writers 11 who know whatever you do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 to burn therein. 16 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 17 Again, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
