Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 when the seas overflow; 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 who created you, fashioned you and proportioned you, 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 Even then you deny the Judgement. 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 noble, recording, 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 and from it they shall never be absent. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
