Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder, 1 And when the stars fall, scattering, 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 and when graves are laid open, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 Noble and recording; 11 They know all that you do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 But the wicked, indeed they shall be in the Fiery Furnace, 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 18 The day on which no soul shall control anything for (another) soul; and the command on that day shall be entirely Allah's. 19
