Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Sky is cleft asunder; 1 And the stars dispersed, 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 and when the graves are laid open: 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical? 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 No! But you deny the Recompense. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 watching over you 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous: will indeed be in bliss, 13 and the wicked shall be in the Blazing Fire. 14 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 18 It is the Day when no one shall have the power to do anything for another, and all command shall be Allah's. 19
