The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to those who give less [than due], 1 Who insist on being given full when they take from others, 2 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 unto a mighty day 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 NAY, VERILY, the record of the wicked is indeed [set down] in a mode inescapable! 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe, then, to those that give the lie, 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 And none will deny it, except every transgressor, rebel. 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 Nay, verily, from [the grace of] their Sustainer shall they on that Day be debarred; 15 Then they will indeed burn in Hell. 16 whereafter they will be told: “This is what you used to give the lie to.” 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun? 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 witnessed by those who are near (to Allah). 21 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 22 On couches, gazing, 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 And whilst returning to their homes, they used to return rejoicing. 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 Yet they were not sent to be their guardians. 33 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers 34 upon couches gazing. 35 Have those who deny the truth [not] been paid back for their deeds? 36
