The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, demand full measure, 2 And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 Unto an Awful Day, 5 The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 It is a Book inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day to those who belied it, 10 Who give the lie to the day of judgment. 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". 13 Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 and then, behold, they shall enter the blazing fire 16 and who will be told, "This is what you had called a lie". 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 A Register inscribed. 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 22 On thrones, looking (at all things). 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be served the choicest wine, sealed 25 which have the fragrance of musk. This is the kind of place for which one should really aspire. 26 a wine tempered with the waters of Tasnim, 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. 30 and, on returning to their people, boast about what they had done. 31 and when they saw them said: 'These are they who are astray' 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 Wherefore Today, those who believed at the infidels are laughing, 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Did not the disbelievers get repaid for what they used to do? 36
