The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! 3 Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? 4 on a Great Day, 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 No indeed! Verily the deeds of the wicked are in the Record locked up in the prison-house! 7 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is! 8 A written record. 9 Woe, then, to those that give the lie, 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' 13 Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts. 14 No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, 15 then they shall roast in Hell. 16 whereafter they will be told: “This is what you used to give the lie to.” 17 NAY, VERILY - the record of the truly virtuous is [set down] in a mode most lofty! 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record 20 To which bear witness those nearest (to Allah, i.e. the angels). 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 seated on couches and gazing around in wonder. 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 its seal will be of musk -- for this let the aspirants aspire -- 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost." 32 Yet they were not sent to be their guardians. 33 Wherefore Today, those who believed at the infidels are laughing, 34 upon couches gazing. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
