The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
