The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 Will pray for death, 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
