The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
