The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
