The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
