The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
