The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
